Went out last night to the sett again. Saw 3 badgers at the sett, but no cubs. The badgers were kind enough to pose by some daffs that have bloomed. We need to find the other sett. We are getting the hang of the lighting too as you can see from this image. It's great watching the badgers feed, they're so nervous though. A dog barked in the distance and the hurried back into the sett. My mate saw a badger cub cross the road behind my car as we left.

We decided we'd try and photograph the badgers in the larger sett as they come out quite early. Almost right after dusk. I brought a LED panel light from Amazon, which we set up and was supposed to last 90 minutes. A badger came out and we got some shots, but it showed us that trying to light any kind of area with fixed lights was going to be hard. My best images was taken at 1/60s 600mm, F4 and a staggering ISO 25600!

A friend and I have been stalking badger setts with trail cams.  It was great to see the wildlife that comes out after dark. Who'd have thought that badgers share a sett with rats? Maybe they do the housekeeping. Click on the picture of the two foxes to go to YouTube.
